Ximena Patton
I began interpreting as a volunteer in 2014 for the Landmark Forum in Alexandria, VA. Currently, I am part of the interpreting team and continue to provide virtual, simultaneous interpretation for the Forum’s participants. In 2023, I began working as a medical interpreter f where I gained extensive experience in emergency departments, follow-up appointments, and mental health settings. In 2024, I simultaneously took courses to work as a legal interpreter for the immigration courts (EOIR). I mastered legal terminology and the procedural flow of immigration hearings, and I also gained insight into the experiences of many immigrants seeking asylum in pursuit of a better future for their families. It is my desire to continue contributing to the community through my skills, maintaining focus, composure, and calm across various types of cases and proceedings. Since 2024, I have worked on numerous occasions at the USCIS Asylum Office in Arlington, as well as on residency cases at the immigration office in Fairfax.
